Second life !!!

You may wonder what second life is all about, well I think it is a bit like facebook, but with people walking around or flying around. You can create a avatar and travel to different Islands, you can connect with frineds, and make new ones too. Also I think it will be usefull for teaching because students can go to the lecture's Island and get the lecture notes that they need. So I am going to give this a thumbs up =).

How can facebook and twitter be used in lectures?

Facebook and twitter seems to be the new trend for this year. People use these types of social networks to communitcate with friends and families, also join groups that they want to be part of. If the university decided to use facebook or twiiter for their lectures, I think it could work. They will be able to give updates on the work that students have to do and also they can interact one on one with the student if they are struggling, with out the lecturer being their. Aslo if a student happens to be ill or is not able to come to the lecture, they could go on twitter or facebook and find the materials for that lecture they missed.

Why not use your mobile in lectures!!!

Imagine a university were you could use your mobile phone to learn from. You could use it to get lecture notes, the lecturer could even send you a text saying that lectures are canceled for the day, which would be better than coming in and finding out when you've tried your hardest to reach on time. But if you really think about I think this idea could work. You could send answers to lecturer's from the questions that they would have sent out to your mobile phone. If you really sat down and thought of the number of ways that mobile phones could be use for teaching it would be endless.
